1. Who we are

Klout Markets is a fantasy stock market for Twitch streamers.

At this stage, Klout Markets is an early-stage startup based in the United Kingdom and is not yet operated through a formed legal entity. In this Privacy Policy, "Klout Markets", "we", "us" and "our" mean the operator of the Klout Markets website, app and related services.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal data when you use www.kloutmarkets.com and any related application, features, communications or services.

3. Who can use the service

Klout Markets is currently intended for users who have a Twitch account. The service is available internationally unless we decide to restrict access in particular territories in future.

4. Personal data we collect

We may collect the following categories of personal data:

• account details, such as your name, email address, username and login credentials;
• Twitch-related account information made available to us when you connect your Twitch account;
• profile information, including profile pictures and streaming clips that you choose to upload or connect;
• platform activity data, such as account actions, rankings, leaderboard activity, virtual portfolio activity and support/contact submissions;
• technical and security data necessary to operate the service, such as basic session and authentication information.

We do not currently collect precise location data, direct messages, chat messages or comments through the service.

We do not currently ask for date of birth, though this may change in future.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We currently use only basic cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, session management, security and core site functionality.

We do not currently use analytics cookies or advertising/marketing cookies.

If that changes, we may update this Privacy Policy and, where required, implement a consent mechanism.

6. How we use personal data

We use personal data to:

• create and manage accounts;
• authenticate logins;
• operate the fantasy market and related features;
• run rankings, listings and leaderboards;
• provide support and respond to enquiries;
• send transactional or service-related emails;
• detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, manipulation and security issues;
• maintain and improve the service;
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not currently send marketing emails. If we introduce marketing communications later, users will be given an appropriate ability to opt out.

7. Legal bases

Where applicable under UK data protection law, we process personal data on one or more of the following bases:

• performance of a contract with you;
• our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving Klout Markets;
• compliance with legal obligations;
• consent, where we specifically ask for it.

8. Twitch data and third-party platforms

If you connect Twitch, we may receive and use certain Twitch account data made available through Twitch's systems or APIs, such as profile information and limited streamer-related data used for discovery, sorting, listings and user profiles.

Klout Markets is independent from Twitch. Twitch does not sponsor, endorse or administer Klout Markets.

If you are a streamer, you may be able to choose whether or not your profile is publicly listed on Klout Markets. You may also request removal from listing, subject to operational and legal requirements.

9. Payments

Klout Markets is currently free during beta testing.

If paid features, one-off payments or subscriptions are introduced in future, payments may be processed by Stripe or other payment providers. We do not intend to store full payment card details ourselves.

10. How we share personal data

We do not sell personal data.

We do not share personal data with commercial partners or sponsors for their own marketing purposes.

We may share personal data only where reasonably necessary with service providers that help us operate the service, such as infrastructure, authentication, email or payment providers. Based on your current setup, that may include providers such as Supabase, Resend and Stripe where relevant.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with investigating fraud, abuse or legal claims.

11. International storage and transfers

Your data may be stored or processed through third-party infrastructure providers, including Supabase, and may therefore be processed in jurisdictions outside your home country.

Where required, we will take reasonable steps to use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

12. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• provide the service;
• maintain account records;
• resolve disputes;
• detect and prevent abuse;
• comply with legal obligations; and
• enforce our agreements.

Because Klout Markets is an early-stage product, retention periods are currently broad and may be refined over time.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights including the right to:

• be informed about how your data is used;
• access your personal data;
• correct inaccurate data;
• request deletion of your data;
• restrict certain processing;
• object to certain processing;

15. Children

Klout Markets is currently available to users with Twitch accounts and is not expressly restricted to adults only. If we later introduce age restrictions or age-gated paid features, we will update our policies accordingly.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the website, app or by email where appropriate.
